Entirely handmade, this exceptional Mrirt rug is made from 100% thick and natural sheep wool. Mrirt rugs are cousins from Beni Ouarain rugs, also handmade in Moroccan moutains. Their making is the fruit of a long tradition, transmitted only by women in each family. They manufacture the rugs by hand on wooden looms.
Their wool is made from very high quality, very soft and silky and very tightly knotted. Then the rug is washed for several weeks, in order to have an infinite softness to the touch. They differ from all other rugs by their fine and silky wool and by their intense thickness.
Mrirt rugs are the favourite target for interior designers for these lines and curves. They are a contemporary version of the Beni Ouarain rugs.
Care Tips : regular maintenance with a soft dry brush to remove dust. Don’t hesitate to turn it over and flipping it regularly! In case of stains, immediately wash it off with soap and water. The carpet may lose few hair after delivery, do not worry : this is just woolen threads stuck during weaving.
